ryker: are you kidding me?  are you actually kidding me?  where have you been?

aurora: i... i...

aurora: i went to visit a friend... in brindleton bay.

tiana: what??

ryker: b-brindleton bay?  you were in the next town over having fun whilst your mother was here, worried sick when she couldn’t find you anywhere at this time of night!  who were you seeing?

aurora: um-

ryker: actually, you know what?  i don’t care who it was.  whoever your “friend” is, i hope you said goodbye to them properly ‘cause you aren’t seeing them again any time soon.

aurora: [sobbing] i- i’m sorry.  i really messed up tonight.

ryker: big time.  go on, get out of here.  and put your phone on the desk on your way out.

parker: are we doing the white and gold decorations this year?

aurora: please can we?  it looks so much nicer than the blue we did last year.

louis: mom, are you gonna do a turkey again this year?

tiana: i don’t know, we could do a turkey or perhaps we could go for a ham this year?

ryker: ooh, ham sounds good to me honey.

tiana: [sighs] what a day, huh? ryker: i just… i don’t know what to do about aurora. what is going on with my daughter? tiana: i don’t know either. but… [sighs] i feel like you… we are taking the wrong approach to this situation. ryker: in what way? tiana: i just, i really feel like what she needs is for us to give her more space to just breathe a little? and for us to show her that we trust her to grow up. ryker: are you kidding me? she’s proven on multiple occasions that she’s not just irresponsible, she’s putting herself in harm’s way, and you want to just, what, cut her some slack? tiana: c’mon ryker, don’t you start.

ryker: honey, you really outdid yourself with winterfest dinner this year.  i mean, i shouldn’t be surprised after so many years, but...

tiana: thank you ryker.  i’m glad we all had a wonderful day today.

louis: what do you mean?  we didn’t all have a “wonderful day”.  nothing was the same as it normally is - rora wasn’t even here!

tiana: has anyone spoken to aurora today?

louis: i did... she’s being annoying.  she won't come out of her room.

ryker: throwing a strop, i suppose.  well if she wants to stay locked away today, that’s her choice.  the rest of us will have a great winterfest.

parker: anyone ever tell you you’re a real joy to be around, ryker?  i’ll go see if i can talk to her.

tiana: louis, hey, calm down honey.

louis: but, aurora wasn’t here all day.  she basically ruined winterfest - i wouldn’t ever be that selfish.  and then you two were just acting weird all day as well, as if everything was fine.  this must be the worst winerfest ever!

ryker: listen, aurora was selfish today, as she had been yesterday.  quite frankly, i wasn’t going o let her behaviour ruin this great day, and if she would rather miss out on today, she can be my guest.

louis: uhh, you just don’t get it, do you?
