Index Cards / my POV

What do you do with index cards? Do you use them?

I usually carry half a dozen of these. I've switched from the 3x5 sized to the A7 size (105x74mm) as they can be discreet enough to keep in a pants' pocket or a jacket.

Sample uses for my Index Cards / evolving around 4 concepts. The original idea comes from PoIC.

I adapted the concept as the following themes:

First comes the date/time stamp and then the category the Index Card belongs to. e.g:

2011-01-06-21-36◊ record (or circle symbol)

2011-01-06-21-36▼ reference

2011-01-06-21-36▲idea

2011-01-06-21-36□ gtd

My date/time stamp represents the following order: year-month-day-hour 24 format-minutes You can imagine the rest. This makes filing the IC's relatively easy in chronological order and they are indexed in a tab-seperated txt file for archival and search purposes.
