Small continuation and update of this and this theory and thought
How many of you have heard the phrase "You might have started it, but I will finish it"?
Harlequin started it, Pierrot finished it.
They all ate her.
Harlequin was the first to eat Columbina.
The thing is they are resilient. They are vastly more sturdy compared to humans - even a wound that would normally kill a human, won't be said for a monster. We have seen when Harlequin got attacked by Pierrot and was "still breathing". Even being ripped apart, who said she was immediately dead? There was a chance she could survive, but...
I think this was referring to Pierrot.
It was from the fact that he devoured Columbina, not to survive, but as a way to keep her with him.
Harlequin started the process by taking the hurt bite, but Pierrot finished the job blind by jealousy.

Freak Circus vs Freak Show
This might be more of semantics than a theory, but oh well.
This was Jester's answer when asked about his biggest dream.
(That is very specific Bobo.)(I hate/love you, why are you my second favorite?)
This got me thinking on what exactly they might have gone through and caused me to deep dive into a "freak circus".
I would not be surprised if they have gone through 2 to 3 different names. The name from their parents, the name from the "Ring Master", then the current names they go by.
Would you consider it more of a circus or a show? Did they put on performances or were they the performance?
"Work for me, you hideous little creatures, and I will feed you."
They’re “kept” like exhibits (stored/contained off-hours), and “used” like acts when the crowd gathers.
Also I wonder if the first human they ever ate was that man.
It was the night everything changed after all. There was no turning back.
They took over the circus and made it to made it is of "today", but they were there from the beginning.
"Work for me, you hideous little creatures, and I will feed you."
"How wonderful" thought the monsters. And so they obeyed.
But the man brought more men. And more… They laughed at the monsters. They applauded their pain.
"What if I charged others to watch?"
The crowd loved it.
But the man wanted more, always more. So he began to feed them less.
"This way they'll be weak. Harmless."
He laughed, while the monsters rotted in their cages, swallowed by the dark.
They begin as a freak show. They were put on display for ertertainment and obeyed the man because of the oral agreement of food. They were hungry for so long before then anyway and this was a way to survive.
Things changed as the man got more greedy, caused more pain, kept them as the place got more and more popular, they became a freak circus.
It’s a freak show (caged attraction) turned a full freak circus (once the freaks were released from their cages).
(I have more, but I can't find my notes for it. They are in one of my notebooks. I'll find it and update this later and reblog it.)
