I’m barely awake and I just want y’all to know that Rae has an interesting habit when you actually get the jump on her:
She flares. Gills, ears, ghibli hair poof-- all of it. She legitimately goes POOF. Bean toes are spread, webbing galore. Squeaks and various clicking noises. You manage to get the drop on the goo while she’s tired? All of this PLUS the oh so attractive string of curses in her native tongue followed up by flailing claws and arcs of electricity everywhere.
She is a goddamn mess when you actually manage to get the drop on her and it is glorious.
When your local Squish gets really stressed out, her internal ecosystem ends up in disarray. This can result in but isn’t limited to:
Plant life in places it shouldn’t be in: Watch your squish suddenly cough up flowers that shouldn’t have been growing in her secondary lungs.
Dimmed colours: If your smol squish doesn’t seem as vibrant as usual, make sure she’s okay. This is an obvious sign of her neglecting her health or stressing over things too much.
Spontaneous ‘leaks’: Its not unusual for there to be droplets or the like of water floating around her in her field from her hair, but if there’s ever any signs of an overflow of water; it means she’s very stressed and isn’t concentrating on maintaining things as she needs to. This can be very bad for your squish, the water in her body is of varying types and solutions and losing too much can result in her getting sick since she herself is an aquatic creature and needs some of them.
Blood pooling: Your squish’s ecosystem is kept in great balance most of the time but stress can cause it to go out of whack. If it happens too heavily, it can have an impact on her physical health such as the pooling of blood from increased pressure and density on fragile capillaries. Don’t be too concerned, she won’t bleed out or anything but its certainly not a good thing no matter how pretty her blood might be to look at.
Smol Tidbit;;
The squish makes little noises while she’s deep in thought and working. Small clicking noises and murmurs to herself. She also tends to fixate her claws on something so if you’re in the vicinity, its better to be more than arm’s length away from her while she’s working unless you’d like to find yourself in her lap and her claws in your hair. It’s a textural thing, she has a touch fixation and it helps her focus.
Smol Tidbit!!
The squish’s hair: A note on it’s “texture”,“feeling” and Composition.
Rae’s hair is at it’s most “solid” state towards its roots and is seemingly more like liquid midway all the way down to its ends. Though this is how it appears, its actually “contained.” Hair is usually solid through and through but Rae’s is hollow inside each ‘strand’ and each ‘strand’ is actually more akin to several strands bunched into one in size. The hair itself is transparent, its the contents inside of it that give it its unique colouring, hence why the colouring changes from various hues in the blue/green range. Its directly tied to her internal ecosystem and due to that it’ll sometimes show some of the aquatic life she has hosted in there. You can see some little fishies swimmin’ in her hair when she does have them in her ecosystem. Other times you might see ‘fragments’ of coral or other sea life that she’s picked up and she is prone to growing aquatic flora in it.
Concerning how it feels/ its texture: Its actually remarkably soft and light in comparison to what one would think it would be. Most don’t even consider it possible to touch her hair and not have it just wade around their hands, but its entirely corporeal though in some instances it will just kind of melt away from touch. This is due to her ability to alter her appearance in a lot of ways and one of those ways is the length/style of her hair. When someone spends too much time touching her hair or if she doesn’t want them doing so, she’ll shorten it to just above their hands and the result is a sudden release of water as the strands recede away from their touch. She does this as a warning: don’t touch or you’ll get soaked.
Not that this’ll probably ever be needed but Y’KNOW--
Smol tidbit about Hiraeth: She’s actually more sensory than one might think due to her pliable skin. The reason for this is due to her way with electrical impulses. She’s very aware of herself and when touched even slightly she’s far too alert about it. However, due to this its also great for her in bed. Small touches and explorative hands are honestly her fave thing. Her ears, neck, collarbone, spine, hips and thighs are the most sensitive parts of her and will have her melting in your hands fairly quickly if you pay them enough mind
A more s f w portion of this is, even if you’re not romantic partners with her but are close to her, she’s going to love holding your hands?? Will legit just play with your fingers and probably get way too familiar in touching them and your face.
What are some of her kinks? What's her sexuality? What is her sexual appetite like?
Nonny Starling | Squish Intel;
“My ‘kinks’ are sleeping, eating and ripping the eyes out of my enemies in no particular order.”
Introduction into the sexual life of the squish--
Hiraeth is Pansexual as most Cnidari are. Some are Asexual because they don’t feel any desire to procreate with another since they can reproduce asexually. Because Cnidari can reproduce asexually, their intimate relationships are based purely around the want to have one or emotions. She does experience sexual attraction, she just doesn’t act on it 99% of the time because it spooks the hell out of her to think of letting someone that close to her. There’s a handful of people already that she wouldn’t mind getting in bed with.
She’s more sensory than most people take her for as well due to her pliable skin and way with electrical impulses. She’s aware of herself and when touched even slightly she’s far too alert about it. Due to this, she has a bit of a touching kink. She really likes touching others when she’s comfortable enough to do so. This is also exceedingly great for her in bed. Small explorative touches are honestly her fave thing. Her ears, neck, collarbone, spine, hips and thighs are the most sensitive parts of her and she’ll gladly melt if you give them enough attention.
She also has a bit of a biting kink. Yes. Cnidari are soft and lovely to touch but this one in general doesn’t mind it at all if you bite her, in fact she loves it and she will bite you right back very very gently in comparison. (Yes, she’s aware her teeth are weapons in their own right and is careful with her partners)
Talk. To. Her. She’s going to praise you in bed, don’t leave her talking to herself. Doesn’t matter what you say, she just wants to hear your voice. She’s a sensor in all rights and listening to her partner’s moans or voice in general is definitely a kink of her’s.
She likes using her electrical abilities to give her partners stimulation as well. Small gentle shocks here and there along their spine or wherever she gets the best reaction from.
Claw her up. Seriously. Just grip into her. Hold her. Do not let go of her. She’s small, she’s soft and she loves it when someone grabs her thighs and holds her there or has their nails in her back.
She’s not an insatiable fiend either, really. While she’ll be sexually attracted, it’s not a hardcore 24/7 kind of thing more so than her thinking it’d be nice to have them in her bed. Her sexual appetite is moderate.
If in some crazy event you actually manage to woo the squish and get her in bed, you’re in for a wild ride and a lot of cuddling afterwards.
