Zoo admits health and safety law offences over tiger keeper's death
A safari park has pleaded guilty to health and safety breaches after a keeper was killed by a Sumatran tiger. South Lakes Safari Zoo entered guilty pleas at Preston Crown Court over the death of Sarah McClay in May 2013. It admitted it failed to ensure the health, safety and welfare at work of its big cat keepers, including Miss McClay, who was pounced on in the keeper's corridor of the tiger house. The company also pleaded guilty to failing to ensure that people it did not employ on that date were not exposed to risk to their health and safety.
It's a shame it took this long to come to what was a fairly obvious conclusion but I am pleased we do not have to go through a trial.
Miss McClay's boyfriend, David Shaw, welcomes the guilty pleas
Glasgow-born Miss McClay had worked at South Lakes Wild Animal Park in Dalton-in-Furness, Cumbria, for three years and was said to be in her dream job. But the 24-year-old was attacked by Padang the Sumatran which had got through an open door that led on to the corridor. She was bitten on the neck and back and dragged through the enclosure. At today's court hearing, prosecutors offered no evidence against the company's sole director, 55-year-old David Gill, who faced individual charges on the same allegations,. Formal not guilty verdicts were recorded against him; however, the company will be sentenced on Friday.

'No - no, on second thoughts, I think not. There was another map - one the Labyrinth's founder brought me. You might consider that. But you won't be able to use it in here. He nods at the ceiling. "Look up. No, not the surface. Just up there, at the top."
You still have your Map. If you don't know what he's talking about, you can safely ignore this. It's not an essential part of the game.
