मुंबई 1993 में मुंबई सीरियल बम धमाके के दोषी यूसुफ मेनन की शुक्रवार को नासिक जेल में मौत हो गई। बम ब्लास्ट के मुख्य आरोपी टाइगर मेमन का भाई यूसुफ इसी मामले में उम्रकैद की सजा काट रहा था। हालांकि यूसुफ की मौत की वजह अभी साफ नहीं हो पाई है। बम ब्लास्ट केस की साजिश के आरोप में यूसुफ को साल 2007 में उम्रकैद की सजा सुनाई गई थी। यूसुफ को साल 2018 में अर्थर रोड जेल से नासिक जेल में शिफ्ट किया गया था। जानकारी के अनुसार, उसकी मौत हार्ट अटैक की वजह से हुई है। उसके शव को पोस्टमॉर्टम के लिए भेज दिया गया है।

मुंबई में 12 मार्च 1993 को एक के बाद एक 12 धमाके हुए थे। मुंबई पर हुए अब तक के इस सबसे बड़े हमले में करीब 317 लोग मारे गए थे। इसी घटना के बाद दाऊद भारत छोड़कर भाग गया था। भारतीय खुफिया एजेंसियों को अंडरवर्ल्ड सरगना दाऊद इब्राहिम की भी इस मामले में लंबे समय से तलाश है। ब्लास्ट की साजिश में शामिल होने का दोषी था यूसुफ यूसुफ पर बम ब्लास्ट की प्लानिंग में शामिल होने, आतंकी गतिविधियों के लिए अपने फ्लैट और गैराज की अनुमति देने का आरोप था। इसी मामले में यूसुफ के एक भाई याकूब मेमन को साल 2015 में फांसी दे दी गई थी। स्पेशल टाडा कोर्ट ने साल 2007 में यूसुफ को उम्रकैद की सजा सुनाई थी। (पीटीआई से इनपुट्स के साथ)

Tiger Memon, the main accused in 1993 Mumbai blasts and Yakub Memon’s brother called her family over landline, shortly before Yakub Memon was hanged on 30 July,

A wing of the Mumbai Police monitored the number and the officials listening in identified Tiger’s voice. Security officials in Mumbai and Delhi but senior Mumbai police officials, Yakub Memon’s lawyer and members of the Memon family rejected to comment confirmed the call.

The report said that instead of devastated for his brother, Tiger talked about revenge in the conversation with his mother and another family member. Mushtaq Tiger Memon, one of the prime accused in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case, is a member of terrorist Dawood Ibrahim’s gang. The Interpol and CBI want him. Tiger’s role in the blasts had been confirmed by the special court after the conviction of the others accused in the case.

His younger brother Yakub Memon was hanged in the Nagpur Central Jail on July 30 for providing logistical support to the bombers.
