i didn’t think you were a palaeo nerd too!!!
Oh my gosh I am a HUGE paleo nerd. Other than Timon and Pumbaa and TLK, paleontology is my most all consuming and longest standing special interest. I’ve been torn between two loves and dream careers my entire life: becoming a paleontologist or becoming an animator.
I’m particularly fond of human evolution within the last 2 million years or so, and maybe especially Homo neanderthalensis within that. I genuinely make myself sick over the fact that I will never know what their culture was like. How they felt about things, how they lived, how they loved, how they viewed the world.
BUT! I am also a huge nerd for anything post K-Pg extinction event. The rise of mammals has always fascinated me.
Don’t get me wrong though, I absolutely love dinosaurs and Mesozoic animals too!!! I just tend to like the weirder animals that often get overlooked.
I’m freaky for the Permian period too. Some of those critters had such bizarre body plans and I love them so much.
