HOW DID I MISS THIS POST and !!! OH GOD ABE ♥ LIKE IDK THIS IS SUCH AN ENJOYABLE SHOW? It's nothing *super* special, but at the same time I'm a sucker for interesting crime dramas with a fantastical flair, so I got pulled into it. happy to be blamed!
I like it a lot more than I initially thought I would based on the premise (I think because henry is actually like, a sympathetic character if you can ignore some of the more tactless 'I'm super-observanT SO' moments. I also appreciate that he actually tells people how he knows things instead of being like ~I am just a genius mystery man!~ cos even if that can be a little creepy? it's less weird imo.)
There's more of his backstory explored than I realized, though I wish they would be a little more chronological or at least give us definite years on those scenes -- like I get not telling it in order because memories don't come back in order, but then at least tell me what year it is like it took me forever to realize that TB plot was pre-1880 and I still don't know how long friend-doctor lived with TB before he died).
Also, like, I love procedurals so having that going on at the same time is gr8 and I am a fan of Jo (!!!) and the assistant-ME whose name I can't remember who basically played a slightly-more-depressed version of this character on bones.
Other detective guy is whatever. Their lieutenant is cool but I wish we saw more of her? I did like her in the art one being like 'shhh you're not here' and henry being like 'wait does that mean I need to leave' like, no henry. it means she's gonna pretend you're not here.
BASICALLY this nonsense is to say that yeah I'm gonna keep watching this show and thank you
