Tian-Shi pulled her hair back in a bun as she scanned the school yard. Her foster sister, Maxie, climbed back into her lap with Twizzlers she had gotten from some of Angel's friends. The pink haired rebel dabbled with drugs, dabbled with violence, but the younger foster children in her house were her drive.
Angel supposed she had a complex maybe about saving others. The kids around them parted like a sea. That probably meant a new kid, which was actually rather rare even if you were bounced around in the system like a ping pong. The town was small, so it meant just being recycled without uprooting too much which was nice when everything around you changed.
She tied up her little sister's hair as she watched a redhead disappear back into the crowd. The girl was pretty, but it looked like the young woman had a chip on her shoulder from the way people reacted to her. Setting the 12 year old aside, she gave Maxie clear instructions to stay with their stuff. Skirting around the people, she got close to the ring. It sounded like some people were arguing.
"Shit," she muttered under her breath. This wasn’t a place for Maxie to be if there was gonna be another fight.
