Surrounded by a trellis with a picturesque water tower in the backgrounds and darkening clouds overhead, Tiides played her first ever solo show. Just moved here from vegas and played in band there. Endearingluly explained that she was nervous. Got aud participation on last song. Liked her. When asked where next show was, she asked if any1 knew where she could play.
It started raining while the next act was setting up so we moved into the living and dining? Rooms of this lovely cpw penthouse apt. Reid from morningsiders. Had to move inside bc of rain. His 1st solo show in 3 yrs. Played g on 1st 3 songs, which he said he doesnt usu play. A little sweet/sensitive for me but most people seemed to really like it. Switched to violin for last one w bandmate mangus on g. Medely that ended w another singalong of bill withers lovely day. Playing lpr on the 31st.
last band back outside--two guitarists took turns singing and harmonizing; one played the clarinet for a song. drummer played a snare and floor tom muffled with cloth draped over them. the 2nd one "marry me annie" was supposedly an effort to woo st. vincent. very pleasant.
this ended up being a first date, and i think i killed it!
