Tapage - Five & Six (Tympanik Audio) Tijs Ham continous his work as Tapage in exploring the properties of numbers. After Seven and Eight he is now back with Five & Six on one album. In 11 tracks (yes, that's 5 + 6) he creates 5 tracks of 5 minutes with time signature 5/4 and 6 tracks of 6 minutes with time signature of 6/4. Aside from all this technical stuff the result is some rather mixed downtempo and uptempo IDM sound with elements from Acid, Industrial and Ambient music, and a fluff of post-rock. Tijs ham is a sound artist, musician and STEIM employee. Tijs performed at the Discovery Festival with the premiere of a new instrument and performance. Three Mixers is a performance where chaotic sound, analog feedback mixers and digitally manipulated sounds collide. The instrument is a half manipulated, half autonomous machine which questions who’s in control of the performance.

In his works Tijs applies programming, live-electronics techniques and system design to explore and expand the possibilities of audible expression. Inspired by artificial intelligence, chaos, evolutionary processes and machine learning he incorporates similar approaches in order to create dynamic structures and experiment with their aesthetic results.

Tapage - Eight (Ad Noiseam)

Tapage is one the many projects of Tijs Ham who is based in Hilversum.  With the work on this release, which revolves around the number 8, he combines ambient textures with hiphop beats and industrial sounds. But it is not limited to that. In the eight 8 minute tracks he delivers loads unexpected changes and variations. And in a few tracks even some (female) vocals.  The tone of the music goes from relaxing to melancholic.

Endtrip is an animation short film in which we experience a breathtaking trip through the bizarre and fantastical unconsciousness of a drug overdosed girl. This visually stunning journey offers a glimpse into the extraordinary and strange workings of the mind.
