Tiki is the first pit type dog I’ve actually owned. I’ve met so many in my life and they’ve always been so docile and loving so obviously I’ve never understood the whole dangerous dog thing. They’re always massive babies scared of their own shadow who love and protect harder than a mother could.
This dog was scared of a sprinkler last night. She then had to sleep with me cause there was noises outside. She cuddles so hard (better than my boxer EVER did and definitely better than the Frenchton who’s not a cuddle bug AT ALL) She needs allergy meds and her tummy/ear cleaned daily, she probably has arthritis from her tough younger years and walks stiffly sometimes if she lays on the floor and not a bed. She’s missing a toe on a front paw and we’ll never know why. She’ll have a saggy tummy forever from being used for breeding so much.
She woke me with licks at 6am, shit twice and has barked at nothing three time but launched herself at the slider twice anyways. She’s tried to telling me her breakfast and then licks of yoghurt is not enough food. She’ll protect me from randoms or leaves if she perceives them to be a threat.
She loves harder than any dog I’ve ever met and she’s curious about everything. Definitely a large case for adopt don’t shop cause she’s been borderline life changing for me. She’s my shadow, she knows when I’m sad and snuggles harder, she’s playful when I have energy and lazy all when I don’t so we just chill together.
10/10 Best random Monday decision ever. Do it if you are in the position to - there’s so many of these doggos in shelters - I’d get another if I had space.
Adopt don’t shop.
