“Sorry Mom.” Bella bit down on her lower lip as she sat down besides her. Placing the fresh mugs of tea on the table for them. “I actually wanted to do the opposite because you seemed to be elsewhere with your thoughts.” Which was truly understandable after what had happened to her mother. She should have thought before touching her anywhere near the neckline.

To keep a close eye on Blaire he had taken her in himself, since her own remained a sealed crime scene for the following days. The first nights were understandably tough up to the point that he had called an ambulance to sedate the remaining sister. Her words didn’t pass him unnoticed when she accused him not to investigate by himself, despite the fact that Alex had spoken to his colleagues that night already to keep him updated on any evidence and suspects they’d be able to find. In a way he thought she was right about that he wasn’t doing enough.
Alex had offered her to stay for as long as she wanted. Eventually warned Blaire to be careful because he suspected the attacker might have acted out of jealousy due to the signs of how gruesome they’d acted. She refused to listen and left. Slept around (again) the sheriff feared, while he finally took actions into his own hands and inform the twins’ creator about the death of his daughter.

“An accident?! I just caught you and my boyfriend!” Her voice broke as Jo stormed past her sister, slamming the door to her room shut. She threw her glasses halfway across the room, while the tears streamed down her cheeks. “Why...?” Thin lips pressed together, dark brown curls falling against the wooden door that now separated the sisters. Why could she never be enough for someone to be with her? Why did it have to be her own sister... this time?
He’s still catching his breath, but his focus draws itself to Blaire. They’re out of the dark – threat wise. But it’s a grisly wound that steals Rick’s attention and his brow creases in concern, fitting his axe back at his hip with reflexive ease. She’s hurt. And frankly, all he can hope is that it looks worse than it is. The sun’s light still filters lowly through the trees, new shadows being cast with every passing moment. They don’t have much daylight left. Rick’s at her side quickly, to help. They can’t stay out there like sitting ducks in the forest, smelling like fresh blood. But they’re too far from the community to make it back before the sun sets.
❝ Put your weight on me. We need to find a place to hold up. – Can you make it alright? ❞ There isn’t much choice, otherwise.

There hadn’t been a single guest in... days, now? Mother would be so terribly displeased if business didn’t pick up anytime soon, the last time it was this slow- well, Norman didn’t like to recount it. He could luckily avoid a large portion of her various shrill, disgusting little cries of “boy! do this! do that!” by working in the office for a precious few hours each day.
However, he swears he could still hear her firmly in the back of his mind. “Boy! What are you doing! Get back in the house, I’m lonely! You wouldn’t leave your mother all alone like this forever, would you?” No mother, it’s not the right time yet.
Norman wills away the voice of his mother for the moment, opening the thin curtain on the door of the office with a sigh. Hoping desperately that he’d see somebody.
Seriously?! Mom that’s embarrassing.
