tilly had got some worrying messages from her dad’s carers about him locking himself in his office again and after matilda had already been dealing with some issues in class, she didn’t exactly fight going home and dealing with that situation but very quickly, she wished she hadn’t come home. it took some time for tilly get her dad back on to his antidepressants that he had been refusing to take and tilly had to spend a lot of time in a area of dark clouds after absorbing everything like she does. honestly, it had been a really hard month away from monarch. in her own ‘second-hand’ depression, she’d actually been pretty crappy at messaging people back and usually taking days to reply. whenever she wasn’t monitoring her dad, she was pretty much holed up in her bed just staring at her laptop as videos played but she couldn’t tell you anything she watched. and yet the one thing she hadn’t been able to do while there was get drunk so she could switch everything off for a night.
now she had been back at monarch for an hour and in that hour, she had done two things. she had put her bags in her room and bumped in to a student in the broadview hallways who had just been broken up with. clearly, tilly had no luck right now and her toxic trait was to always want to help people so the second she was done with absorbing all of that, she was done. matilda hadn’t even had chance to tell anyone she was back on campus before she wound up at mars bar, buying a bottle of tequila and sitting in a booth in the corner on her own. when someone approached her, she didn’t even look at them. “if you’re not going to drink shots with me, I’m going to politely ask you to walk away.”
