Phillip Phillips and Churchill concert last night at EKU! One of the most incredible nights of my life. Both acts were amazing and I got to meet Churchill at the end! I am pretty sure I am actually in love with Tim Bruns.
Denver's own Churchill, making their national television debut.
So proud of what they've accomplished. Much on the heels on this song, "Change" which is wildly unlike any of their other heartbreaking material, to-date.
Frontman Tim Bruns and mandolin player Michael Morter began their music career in Denver together on our open stage at Meadowlark. Their ability to morph, mature, pull the right people around them and work incredibly hard has given them the kind of legs they've grown, to climb the mountain, hitherto.
Success couldn't come to a group of kinder, sweeter folks. Much more to come in 2013 with the group's first full-length on A&M Octone Records.
Godspeed gang.
Say hello to Churchill.
Churchill is an alternative band founded as a two-piece band by Tim Bruns and Mike Morter back in 2008. In 2009 the two expanded to five members. The five-piece group self-released their full-lenght debut album 'Happy/Sad' in 2011 and then signed with Octone Records in 2012 to release an EP entitled 'Change' which actually reached #9 on Billboard Heatseekers Chart. The title track became a hit single, reaching #17 on Alternative Songs Chart and was a iTunes Free Song of The Week in early 2013! What do you think of the Denver-based band?
i really really hope that churchill never goes mainstream
i mean i don't want to be one of those fans that's like "I KNEW THEM FIRST I KNEW THEM FIRST YOU'RE NOT A REAL FAN"
but
the band members have come out and said that they do not wish to get caught up in the mainstream
"Our goal is to not be hip at all. The last thing we want to do is get caught up in any kind of trend. We want to make music you can listen to 20 years from now"- tim bruns
