John Abernathy. This photo is a first person perspective of being detained by ICE. Thousands of people have experienced this, and this is the first photo I’ve seen that gets to what it must have felt like. Abernathy was photographing in Minneapolis on January 15th when he was accosted by federal agents, wrongly accused of deploying bear spray. Thinking quickly, he tossed his camera & phone to a nearby photographer so evidence couldn’t be destroyed. And because of that, we have this remarkable photo. video via Zach Dobson
