au where stranger is actually the long lost brother of the washington kids’ father. he wasn’t exactly long-lost, but more of, “You’re an embarrassment to the family and if anyone asks, you don’t exist.” When he was kicked from the family, they were visiting the cabin, and he became a hermit on the mountain.
every time the washington family would go to the cabin, he'd be looking out for them. when hannah and beth die, he’s right there, on his knees, choking back sobs because he knows there’s a wendigo close by. he knows he just lost his nieces.
imagine him meeting josh and having to pretend he never knew him. imagine stranger knowing exactly why josh brought them all back, and doing nothing to stop him, because part of him is rooting for josh in that situation. imagine stranger realizing it went too far.
imagine stranger seeing chris/josh as a thing. imagine him being the chill uncle who totally supports them and torches wendigo ass. imagine stranger being close with his nephew and chris.
