The entries that I did for NovemBurton 2025 prompt on Instagram.

1) Beyond the Grave in Autumn

Here you see Victor Frankenstein , Elsa Van Helsing, Sparky, and Persephone from “Frankenweenie” (2012/Burton animated film). Victor F was placing a jack-o-lantern on Sparky’s gravestone in the Pet Cemetery for Halloween. Even though Sparky is alive again, Victor F can put the pumpkin on a gravestone as a Halloween decoration. As for Elsa, she’s holding white roses, which were the offerings to the gravestones (for those who didn’t receive the offerings).

2) Striped Clothes in Winter

Here are Katrina Van Tassel and Ichabod Crane from “Sleepy Hollow” (1999/Burton film). Both of them were viewing the snowflakes in Winter. It was based on the ending of the film where both Katrina (who was wearing a black-and-white striped dress) and Ichabod, with young Masbeth, came to New York City while there was snowing.

The background and the snowflakes in this pic were both referenced from the Peanuts’ “It’s Christmas, Charlie Brown,” where the kids were trying to catch some snowflakes outside.

3) Undying Love in Spring

Here are Victor Van Dort and Victoria Everglot from “Corpse Bride.” Both of them were holding a jasmine together (or holding hands) with love in a garden (blue roses, which were the reminders of Emily’s bouquet of flowers) while there is a blue butterfly (represents Emily) in this pic. In the movie, the jasmine that Victoria E gave it to Victor VD is a reminder of how Victor VD feels for Victoria E. Before the ending, Emily gave up her marriage and let both Victor VD and Victoria E together because of her selflessness. At the end, Victoria E received a bouquet of flowers when Emily gave it away as she was leaving.

The garden background was referenced from the photos that I took in Yokohama (Japan) when my mom and I went to Japan in late Spring - the rose gardens in Yamashita Park (Yokohama, Japan).

4) Pale Complexion in Summer

Here are Victoria Winters (aka Maggie Evans) and Barnabas Collins from “Dark Shadows” (2012/Burton film). Both of them were having vanilla ice cream near the sea. Barnabas has a pale complexion because he’s a vampire. For sweets, ice cream is indeed part of Summer treats. So, you can see these two characters were sharing their “Summer love” with ice cream moments.

For ice cream moments, it was something like when Diana from “Wonder Woman” (2017 movie) tried an ice cream for the first time. So, I’m imagining that Barnabas is eating an ice cream for the first time in this pic.
