This was a picture from fathers day weekend last year. And it was a reminder today why my kids always come first before work and business. This past weekend I had the opportunity to go to an event my mentor and friend puts on every year. This years event was loaded with world class speakers and networking opportunities that would have helped us get some new high performance guests on our podcast and some potential speakers for our upcoming event the Great American Summit. I wanted to be there. I wanted to support my friend and his event because all the times he’s been there for me. But My daughter had her first ever dance recital, she’s 13 and has been practicing for 6 months. It wasn’t a hard decision. It was automatic. No way in hell would I miss my daughters dance recital. I made a vow to myself and for my children that I would be the father I never had. I will never trade time for money or business.
