Jade heaved a heavy sigh as she lingered at the edge of the fray, the audible embodiment of her unease lost in the energy of the crowd and the steady thrum of the music of the busy club. A friend -more of an acquaintance really- from one of her classes had implored her to accompany her to the Central Province after a long week of classes, insisting she had no one else to go with. Jade hadn't really wanted to, but she felt bad turning her down so she obliged, concealing her displeasure and donning a short green and black clubbing dress.
Everything had been fine for the first twenty minutes or so, but when one of the stags began eyeing her classmate, all was lost. Not even five minutes later Jade was left on her own in the middle of the dance floor feeling exasperated utterly out of place. With a bit of effort she was able to clear the dance floor, shoving a bit to make it past the horde of writhing bodies. Once free of the mob, Jade surveyed her surroundings but found no trace of her partner. With a slight frown she glanced down at her phone; it was only 9:00, but she wondered if she should just text the girl and catch a train back to the dormitories. Leaning slightly against the wall she entertained the idea, lost in thought for a moment as she contemplated her options.
