If Pit/Chara can split or create different timelines, can they also create aus of their own like creating characters and such like a Creator could or is it only limited to changing the 'outcomes' happening in their AU?

Good question. That was one part that kept me brainstorming for a good amount of time, while coming up with T-Tale's story.
Personally, I don't like stories with characters that are written like a "mary sue" without getting punished or something. So, I made one rule for myself for Timeline-Tale: "Great power comes with great responsibility and consequences." If I break that rule at some point, it just shows my bad story-telling skills 〒▽〒
When they both saw each other again in the Core and created a different timeline, their only goal was to separate all monsters, their "own dimension", from humanity. Nothing more and nothing less. They didn't even know if it would work or not, but they were desperate and stupid enough to try anyway.
But manually splitting one timeline comes with some consequences. The creation of multiple different timelines in a single AU was one of them. It was not intentional and they didn’t know this even happened at first. Another consequence was the damage Chara’s and Pit's souls suffered in the process. Chara’s life got a time limit, while Pit’s soul got damaged enough to instantly kill him, if someone would’ve gotten him out of the Core. Therefore, no, they cannot create or split another timeline again, theoretically.
While they now roughly know how it works, their influence is only bound to how far the Core/their prison can reach. Since the Core is only connected with the timelines in their AU, they cannot see, hear or influence anything outside of it.
Powers like (re-)creating souls or something similar was never something they could do- .... It is nothing they can do without my help and without more consequences.
