Back in the day, when going to the cinema (Cineplex, specifically) was a thing, the pre-show featured TimePlay, an interactive game played from the participant’s phone. You got to win (Scene) points, which you could redeem for free tickets.

According to a Global News article from January 7, 2021, though, “Cineplex says that ... TimePlay will no longer be available at its theatres as of 2021.”

However, TimePlay has an online version now, playing thrice a week (Sundays, Tuesday, and Thursdays at 8:30 P.M. EST). You watch the show at https://timeplay.tv/ and play from your phone. (I am not being paid for this, so why am I explaining it? Because though I suck at it, it kind of is fun?)

Anyways, this week one of the games was to “pick three mythical objects Indiana Jones has found.” One of the choices offered was the “Book of Thoth.” “The ‘Book of Thoth’ is a name given to many ancient Egyptian texts supposed to have been written by Thoth, the Egyptian god of writing and knowledge” (source).

Indiana Jones did not find this mythical object, in case you were wondering.

I’m just taking a quick break during my daily tumblr binge to say that I was thoroughly convinced for about 0.5 seconds that TimePlay was haunting me.  It just sent out a notification that said that the weird pre-movie trivia no longer requires being in a theater, or like actually watching a movie, but I was not expecting that notification at midnight tonight.
