Naomi, done in 25 minutes for the Timer Challenge. After the struggles I had with doing Acton in a limited time frame, I wanted to take a shot at doing another humanoid character. Then you know I thought ‘hey let’s have weird lighting’ and this happened. Lighting from the bottom calls for a lot of thought on the different plains of the face- and holy wow the colours mess it all up even more. But I think the result’s pretty cool! I mean, to me most lighting from the bottom, if it’s coloured and soft, creates a sort of mysterious and mystic effect. Sharper white lights tend to be a bit more intimidating. But, yeah! It was kinda crazy to play around with the different values and hues that showed up in this image. It ended up looking rougher than most of my timer challenge pieces, but that just encourages me to work on my human portraits even more
