GUSHING ABOUT YOU — ACCEPTING !

          Y’ALL MIND IF I GUSH ABOUT MY BF FOR A SEC;; achilles has heard ENOUGH of my gushing from me so instead i’ll show my mutuals how much i love you ‘cause i’m an asshole.

          okay so i first met achilles when i was fifteen ( it was a little after age of ultron came out ) and i was SOOO scared. like. ultra mega terrified of them because they were so cool and i was so not. but, we started talking, and role playing, and writing and skyping and after going from friends to buddies to calling each other bro and sis here we are — almost to our one year date-aversary.

          achilles is a lot of things, both good and bad. they’re not perfect, and neither am i. but of those good things, achilles is really smart. like, SUPER smart. and they don’t give themselves enough credit for it. they’re absolutely beautiful and their voice is such a soothing sound with a hint of cocky humor i can’t help but smile. they’re funny, and kind, and generous ( have you SEEN my theme?? ) and all of their portrayals— canon AND oc — are SO good, so very very good. they put so much time and effort into each character they take on and even if its a frustrating process god is it so worth it to watch them go and just write and its so cute.

          i wrote achilles a small letter in my christmas turned birthday present so they’ve probably heard all this before but — you stupid jerk. you’re my doodlebug, my stars & galaxies. i want nothing but the best for you now & in the future, whether i’m there or not. you’ve had such a great impact on my life & my experiences, including but not limited to loving the moon, smiling at mothman jokes and not being as scared as thunderstorms because hey, it just means you’re there.

          oh and your chrom is daddy as fuck

SAVE THE WORLD, OR SPARE CHROM’S HEART: Those were the options given to the tactician by Naga herself. The ultimatum weighed heavily on her ever since their departure from Mount Prism, with the Ylissean prince insisting the entire time that they’d “find another way.” The decision seemed rather cut-and-dry for Robin. After all, what was one life when compared to millions? The chance to relinquish an otherworldly evil did not often present itself, and to waste the opportunity would be downright sinful. The only thing standing in her way was the person who promised to be by her side.

One would think it simple to refuse him. It posed the same question as before: what were the feelings of one man when compared to the lives of centuries of future generations? To Robin, as much as she did not want to admit it, they were everything. It was her life to offer, of course, but in the span of time they had known each other, Chrom had become her life. All memories prior to her waking in that field were ( g o n e ). He was, in a way, her very first memory, and when she leafed through all the others that came after, she always found him there. She had mocked the “two halves of a whole” comparison once or twice for being cliché, but damn if he wasn’t right. Robin always imagined the knowledge that someone could not live without her would be a satisfying feeling, but in truth, it felt like a crushing weight on her chest.

Still, she would NOT be changing her mind. The night before their battle with Grima approached quickly after a handful of days spent marching. The tension lingering in the atmosphere of the camp was undeniable, and nowhere was it higher than within the confines of the captain’s tent. Time was running out, and it was clear that there was no third course of action for the day of reckoning that loomed ahead. In truth, there was no need to contemplate. Robin’s mind had been made up from the moment Naga presented her options. It wasn’t the fear of her fate that twisted her gut and made her heart feel as if it were being squeezed within a vice. It was the unwavering trust in her husband’s eyes when he looked at her like a blind man seeing the sun for the first time. Indeed, he was BLIND, unaware of the truth that would tear him ( a p a r t ). It made spending that last night with him all the more difficult.

Robin heaved a sigh, pushing aside the messily scribbled on parchment; fruitless attempts at finding that sought after “other way,” hours wasted on a hopeless cause to ease the mind of her beloved. She put her head down, resting her forehead against her crossed arms that rested on the desk and closing her eyes. Chrom would be back any minute with high expectations, and she would be ready to disappoint.

“Hmm...” A hum of uncertainty from the tactician as she rested her chin on Chrom’s shoulder. He sat, studying a slew of maps marked with various scribbles and notes that were spread over the rickety makeshift table they’d managed to assemble once pitching their tents. 

“Why have you ABANDONED that path there?” Robin asked, reaching over the prince to allow fingertips to trail over crumpled parchment to address the half-finished route through the hills. “You were SMART to have written off the one through the clearing. We would have been far too EXPOSED. However, the one that you’re drawing through the valley leaves us at just as much of a disadvantage. If our enemies acquire the high ground, we’ll be at a LOSS. The hills are your best bet. We’ve got stamina enough to climb them, and it would guarantee more SAFETY than either of the previous options.”

Aversa’s words became softer and softer, glancing downward once she finished speaking. The dark flier rarely saw anyone’s lips curve upward in true, genuine happiness when in Plegia. Kindness is a foreign concept. Almost as if TABOO. 

The man before her had been her enemy for so many years. Now? Aversa is actually apart in his army. There’s so much she doesn’t understand. Not even after being exposed to the truth at the Springs.

Seeing Robin up before dawn was anything but rare; the tactician’s sleep schedule was nothing short of a disaster. Chrom often woke with her not because he considered himself a morning person, but out of selflessness that Robin thought foolish every now and then. Still, part of her could not help but admire it. 

On this particular morning, however, she took extra care not to wake him. It proved to be quite a struggle, seeing as his arms tightened around her every time she made a move to get away. Robin was not about to give up so easily. After all, it was her job to find solutions to the impossible. Some careful maneuvering and a bit of patience was all it took to free herself, and she set to work. 

A couple of hours later, once the sun was just beginning to peek through the trees, she made her way back to she and Chrom’s shared tent. On the desk, she set down the cake she had attempted. It was by no means perfect, but she decided its lopsided positioning gave it character. She’d have to thank Cordelia again for that baking advice later. For the moment, she decided it was time to wake Chrom. She climbed back into bed, her fingertips smoothing down strands of her husband’s dark blue hair that had gone askew on his head. 

“It’s time to get up, sleepyhead.”
