There had to be a way. Asura walked quickly, feeling as if there was a ticking clock following his every step. Clock? No. More like a time bomb. He had only a few short hours to find a way to stop himself from once again becoming the monster known as the Kishin. Not enough time. Not nearly enough, but he had to find a way to make it work.
Time...time was the problem. If only he could find a way to somehow stretch the time remaining into something more...
That pressing question was the reason he was stalking the night streets now. Homura Akemi. She had helped him in the past, he hoped she would be as willing to provide her assistance to him now as when he was less...in control. He didn't fully understand her power, having never had the need to ask, but he knew it had to do with time control. Perhaps she could help.
He sent a desperate prayer to gods no one living knew remembered the names of. If she couldn't help, then he had just thrown away a few of his precious hours.
He scanned the city again, looking for her soul signature. Damn those soul gems. It made it so much more difficult to pick the Magi out from a distance. There! A faint trace, right on the edge of his senses. But something was distorting it. A witch? No! Not here, not now! He did not have time to deal with this.
Breaking into an inhumanly fast run, he hurried forward, praying with all his might that he could catch her before she entered the barrier.
