#Repost @metabolic_mike (@get_repost) ・・・ The carbohydrate-insulin model (CIM) of obesity is controversial.... But it’s hard to argue with the fact that intermittent fasting (IF) lowers lowers insulin and increases fatty acid oxidation in skeletal muscle, while insulin infusion decreases fatty acid oxidation and pivots the body to utilize carbohydrates for fuel. Hmmm.... The calories-in-calories-out (CICO) crowd argue that energy balance is all you need to know. Nuff said!? 🤷🏽♂️ The “hormone camp” argues that different foods (i.e. carbs, fats etc..) influence the body’s key fat-storage and energy utilization hormones (insulin, leptin, adiponectin etc...) which in turn influence fat loss or gain. I’m sure there’s some middle ground here..... Time will fell who’s right or wrong here, because many labs are actively comparing steady state calorie deficits VS intermittent fasting to see what metabolic differences there maybe between the two strategies. Where do you stand in this whole insulin VS calorie controversy? #timerestrictedfeeding #intermittentfasting #ketoaf #ketogenicdiet #keto #ketodiet #insulin #contestprep #bodybuilding #fitnessmotivation #fatloss #muscle #squats #legday #fatburning #paleoish #ketoweightloss (at En Mi Depa!!!) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtWHYa-BbKaCgKwtUBS0hk6iM_UqKZrR2WI9-o0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1e2ropsuakco3
