4.20.17 | Time[scape]lab. CONFABULATORES NOCTURI columbarium, an upturned chessboard - 2010
Pre-observations:
1. This looks like a plan/overhead view of a building and pavilion.
2. The top left corner of the pavilion is cracked--because of old age?
3. The majority of the bottom of the building is black--cloaked in darkness.
Post-observations:
This image is actually a montage (not collage because it’s digital and flat) of a plan (top half) and a section (lower half) of a columbarium with a large amount of cut earth/dirt shown with the dark void. The cracked top corner refers to the poem by T.S. Eliot titled “Wasteland.”
