She should have gone up and taken her coat off before she tried to get her suitcases to her room. She’s very warm now that she’s inside and it’s making her feel damp. It’s only a flat path now, but guiding two large suitcases with only one hand to use while the other is occupied with her cane, is proving difficult. The cases are tripping her up a little. 

When Juliet hears footsteps she looks up. 

“Excuse me— I hate to impose but would you please help me with one of my bags? My room is just down the hall.”

There are certainly a lot of stairs in this palace. Beautiful winding staircases, but with her additional luggage she has a way to climb. Two large suitcases on four wheels made for easy trekking on flat surfaces, but not stairs. She’s assumed someone might bring the luggage up to the rooms. With her right hand already taken up by her cane, Juliet would have to make two trips to bring each case. Maybe she could go up empty handed and see if Arabella could help.

A flash of colour catches her eye. 

“Hey!” she greets, openly, politely, giving a smile. “Do you think you could help me with my bags, I didn’t anticipate so many stairs...” She’s a little embarrassed.

Juliet had now felt like she quite fit in at this event, no matter what Arabella had told her to convince her to be her plus one, but the fact that she is now facing a woman who had been in a circumstance very similar to her own made Juliet feel tremendously odd. Two former dancers whose careers were ended by vehicles. Vanessa had kept all her limbs though. Juliet had not been a ballerina, not in the same capacity at least, her work had been contemporary, mixing several styles with some acrobatics. She can’t be sure if Vanessa Rosseaux would actually know who she is. 

Juliet tightens the belt on her coat as she steps over to the woman. The gatehouse is cool and an easy way to get some fresh air. 

“Salut,” Juliet greets in French. “Votre voyage s'est-il bien passé?”

“Excuse me,” she says lightly, “I can’t seem to find one of my bags.” Juliet is still wearing her winter clothes; long cream coat, grey wool trousers and knee-high boots. Her scarf is loose around her neck now, and she has flipped the metal grip on her cane up now that she is not longer walking outside. “It’s a large suitcase, hard body, four wheels and charcoal coloured. Any chance you’ve seen it?”
