How long has it been since he’d arrived here now? Too long. The city should be a nice change of pace from things prior to all of this, but it’s too damn noisy here. So much so that the doctor found himself desperately missing that void he was cast into. The End of the Universe. Such a vast vista of sand and rocks as far as the eye could see. Complete Isolation. Solitude. No one to bother him, pester him, irritate him in any means of fashion! But here? It’s just busy. The Hustle and bustle of everyone made him actually begin to yearn for that place again. And it was supposed to be his prison!! A Punishment suited for someone who’d not only aided in ripping the fabric of dimensions and time apart, but even for trying to manhandle forces beyond even his own comprehension! ...But it was worth it for some peace and quiet.
So Here he tries to replicate that.
In Golden Ward, on the beaches, tucked away among some rocks, Dr. Cortex kicks back and relaxes against one of the boulders. No one to bother him. No Children as they’re too far away, no annoying Birds to squawk at him or anything of that ilk, just him by himself relaxing and getting some much needed alone time. No Crash to poke fun at him or anything, no urchins to prod at his berserk button. No one. Not even N. Tropy would come looking for him here, right?
Upon hearing footsteps approaching him in the sand, Cortex’s brow furrows in frustration. He’s not going to give them the pleasure of a full blown discussion, so keeping his eyes shut, he spits out one of his brand name ‘Cortex Colloquialisms’ at the guest. “Ugh. What?! Here to entice me with one of your confectionaries? Hot Dogs? Churros? Oooh!! What about those little Dip-’n-dots that they have, hm?! Get lost!!” Digging a foot into the sand, he kicks up abruptly tossing the gravel in their direction. But not with enough force to get it on them.
“In case you can’t tell, I’m trying to relax here. Stay away from the crowd, Crash, N. Tropy, or anyone else who’s enough of an idiot to pester me and get some well deserved R & R. Go on~!! Shoo!! I don’t need anyone like you sullying my mood any further.” And with that, he repositions himself a bit, gets comfy and resumes his reprieve. “Go sell your brick-a-brack to the anklebiters.” Lips spread into a wide smirk, he sighs, happy to get back to resting, and trying his damndest to ignore the fact they’re still there.
