SLOR’s swarm of ground-breaking infinite resonators take sonic manipulation into new territory, blurring the lines between FX processing and synthesis. Infinite resonators use a special algorithm to control the feedback path to allow transformations which are both extreme and tightly controlled. This is what gives SLOR the power to add subtle atmospheres, bend beats into chords and melodies or set up autonomous compositions and morph continuously between all of these.

As long as that's covered all the rules can be broken. This is the spirit behind SLOO

Lightning fast transitions

SLOO’s sound can vary from immense density to shimmering filigree in a heartbeat due to its voice swarming algorithm. This allows dramatically morphing sonic transformations, powerful expression in a live performance and flexible control in the studio. Spin the modwheel to morph live from a crisp monosynth into a polyrhythmic chord without the need to grow an extra 30 fingers. Use the Morph bar to transition from a meaty kick drum to a spectral atmosphere without getting lost in endless automation lanes.

A simple route to a complex sound

Voice swarming means high impact and maximum versatility with very few controls. All SLOO’s main sound controls are on one page making the 103 included presets instantly tweakable to get to the sound you’re looking for. Familiar controls such as Filter Cutoff, Resonance, FM and LFO Speed are intuitive to use while sonic richness and complexity emerge from the swarm patterns beneath the hood. Whether it’s a lead, pad, sound FX or a rhythmic sequence you can get to its most modern incarnation in record time.

Made for performance - on or off the rails

Hands-on jamming is at the heart of SLOO and it has a bunch of features to help. If your performance requires razor-sharp timing just hit Live Quantise. If you need SLOO to keep you in key just select one of 4 editable Scales.

For experienced keyboard players Adaptive mode intelligently switches between monophonic and polyphonic action. Start a phrase with one key and SLOO plays like a monosynth, start with two or more and it plays like a polysynth.

The depths of the engine - how voice swarming works

Voice swarming works by generating a swarm of variations for each parameter. This swarm is controlled by the centre, pattern and amount controls. Close swarms behave more like a monosynth, distant swarms more like a polysynth. Individual parameters can swarm in different densities. For example the pitches could be very close while the filter cutoffs are far apart.

The relative positions of each voice to each other is called a swarm pattern. Swarm patterns can be randomised individually or all at once using the Randomise buttons. The last 16 randomisations are automatically stored and recalled using the History Wheel
