Bug ownership is so interesting. Prettybug is very much about his attention- no matter how much I hold him, he’ll always act as if it’s never enough. He’s a bit of a diva in that regard- he knows he’s fabulous.

CJ? How dare you perceive him. You TOUCH CJ? You touch CJ with the finger? JAIL FOR KING! Jail for King for one THOUSAND YEARS! He tolerates me tong-feeding him but anything else is an exercise in Convincing™.

Mantis molts! I read about this when I was studying How to Pet Mantis. Nothing really prepares you for actually seeing it in person.

Caught my spiny flower mantis molting yesterday! I thought he was looking a bit puffy but I didn’t think much of it.

Of course, this comes just when I took a bunch of pictures of the Bugs™ because I needed some more up to date images…

Watching CJ eat a fruit fly is like watching a human eat a whole ass watermelon bit by bit.

CJ is my new Timor Shield Mantis! They’re still settling in but so far I’m pretty happy with what I see here.
