@icegirlash and Timothy LeDuc’s 2021-22 Senior Pairs Short Program is now available on On Ice Perspectives’ YouTube channel. It was meant to premiere with their debut performance this weekend at Cranberry Cup. Unfortunately, in the week between filming this and leaving for competition, Ashley was exposed to COVID-19, and despite being a world class athlete, fully-vaccinated, and wearing masks with her students, she was still affected enough to need hospitalization and miss their first competition since Worlds. The good news is that Ash is already doing better, testing negative again and will soon be out of quarantine and back to preparing for her and Tim’s next competition. It’s important for us all to remember that COVID-19 is still a serious and deadly disease, not just for the unvaccinated, or immunocompromised, but also for the people in our lives we’d least expect. To protect them and get to the end of this pandemic, we need to stay vigilant with masks in crowded spaces, follow social distancing guidelines, and most importantly, get you and your loved ones vaccinated to protect against the worst side effects and reduce the spread of variants. I myself choose all three, and am grateful for the opportunity, and privilege, to travel and film and bring skating to everyone who cannot experience it in person right now.
