The Laundromat | Short Film
The Ride | Short Film
“New Beginnings”
Directed by Timothy Melville
You might not notice it on the first viewing, but this short film has a lot of narrative heft to it. Two lovers on the run discuss the uncertainty of their new life together. The story is as simple as it can be, but it what’s not said that makes this film special. The film is nothing more than a single scene, a conversation between the two characters, but I don’t think needs to be anything more. As it is, the film is both quiet and genuine, and it also showcases touching performances by it’s leads. Enjoy.

You know, if I ever get robbed by someone I always hope that the person robbing me is polite about it. Hence the premise of this film, a man doing his laundry is held at gunpoint by a polite person he just met. This film’s tone is a bit hard to pin down; it’s part comedy, part drama, part romance, and part pseudo presentation or reality, but somehow it still manages to work. Enjoy.
"The Ride" Directed by Timothy Melville Reconnecting with someone can be a bittersweet thing; on one hand you remember everything you loved about being with them, but on the other hand, you're reminded why you parted ways in the first place. This film, a simple story of a guy who bumps into his ex by chance, carries this bittersweet note within it. One of personal favorites, this film says so much with saying so very little, and it also catches you by surprise in the end. Enjoy.
