The beautiful #Koetari form of Dendrobates tinctorius. From a distance, these dark and bold #PoisonFrogs look like black frogs with blue limbs. Up close, you can see the irregular markings beneath the darker tones. Found this Dead Man’s Foot (Pisolithus tinctorius) post in my drafts. The fungus pictured here is associated with oak but the species can also be associated with eucalyptus. As a natural dye, the oak-associated fungus produces a dark-brown to black color whereas the eucalyptus-associated fungus produces orange-copper tones.

Check our dart frogs getting their daily noms in the form of fruit flies. If you watch closely, they tap their back toes to try to attract bugs to scarf down!
