SOME DAYS ARE “COOLER” THAN OTHERS in the office, and today was one of those days. . As part of our new office location Grand Opening Celebrations, and to give back to our community, our office team welcomed for a full week, a group of young campers to our workplace, to learn about the world of design, architecture, city planning and other aspects of our day-to-day work. . All through “The HIPHOP Architecture Camp. . The kids learned how to make physical 3D models, work in the design of their own skate park in #Tinkecard software computer modeling, as well as explore materials, textures, how to use of color ….and even learn about lighting! - . Big thanks to The Design School at ASU for facilitating the computer lab for the 3D software exercises. . Today, their last day, we took a bus around town and taped scenes for what will become a full-on “film quality” video. . The kids used their creativity, their imagination and histrionic talents to compose, sing and dance a song made with their own lyrics, all to narrate their thoughts about our city and its future. . A message that for sure will make you think… and at the same time tap your foot once of twice! . Meanwhile, our Gensler PHX office marketing specialist Rachel Carraway, and myself took advantage of the energy of the moment and use our superpowers, to “cool-pose” in front of the latest art acquisition in downtown ….
