Tonight for Day 91 of my #90minDirectedbyWomen yearlong film viewing practice I dipped in to watch the opening of a 2 films on Festival Scope Pro: Marie Voignier’s Tinselwood and Alanis Obomsawin’s We Can't Make the Same Mistake Twice. I’ll come back to them at another time soon. I also watched Episode 1 of Maria Margarita Herrera Sabogal’s The Other Side | La otra orilla, also on Festival Scope Pro. I followed that with Vanessa Roth’s Daughters of Destiny TV series on Netlix - Season 1 Episode 1 The Untouchables. And rounded out the 90+ minutes with Lara-Ann de Wet’s The Verse on Vimeo.
I’m intrigued by the synchronicities. Obomsawin’s film and Roth’s TV series both deal with issues related to residential schooling. I’m fascinated by the way I float around online looking to see what I want to dip in and explore... and so often discover synchronicities. Have you explored the work of these directors?
