We are often asked, where do we park our tiny house when we travel? the truth is, we never travel with our tiny house, we travel because of it. It been parked in the same beautiful spot for over 3 years now and our low cost of living has allowed us great freedom to spend time doing more important things rather that striving to pay high living costs. Since living tiny we have traveled to over 35 states across the US. How much square feet do you need in a tiny house to be comfortable? If you design your home to fit your needs and your daily routine, you will be surprised at how little space you actually need. 4 years ago when we were planning on downsizing to a tiny house we mapped out our ideal floor plan in our living room to get an idea of the space we would have in our future tiny house. This helped up learn how we would interact with everything in that predefined square footage. Doing this helped us realized we wanted to have a real couch for comfort versus custom couch with storage. We also didn't want to make too many things too multipurpose, although it nice to maximize space as much as possible, we needed to plan practically with the little space we had for the long term. how would you design your tiny space? Would you keep any standard function items like a real couch or would you go multi purpose on everything? Sophia and Skye of @redearthecovillage have just kicked off their tiny house build in a big way, starting with a 24ft x 10ft wide Tiny House Basics @tinyhousetrailers. This is one of 3 tiny house trailers we built and delivered to their 45 acre property outside Lyons Colorado which is the start of a Tiny House Eco-Village. This photo was only taken a few weeks ago and you should see the progress now, we highly recommend following them as it's a great build to watch. The next builds coming after this will be Samuel's 32ft x 10ft wide and then Ben and Sandra's 28ft x 102" wide tiny house.
