Pre-Robin Jason Was Amazing
It’s no wonder Bruce wanted him for Robin. Check this shit out.
Now, we all know by now that Jason stole Batman’s tires... which takes some guts, come on.
Look at this ballsy little shit hit Batman with the tire iron.
But then, B sends him to this school in Crime Alley - Ma Gunn’s School for Boys (which is really just a front to train young criminals.)
Look at baby Jay kick some ass!
They have to get more boys to put him down!
But Jason doesn’t want to be a criminal. He only wants to survive, so he runs away from the school after hearing about their plan to steal from a museum.
Batman is not happy.
Check this out - Jason pulls Batman’s disappearing trick on him! I think that might be when Bruce decides he’s gonna adopt, really.
Then Jason saves his ass in the museum.
And seriously, after this next panel, how could he not adopt?
“...somebody had to stop it.”
And he freaking came in through the skylight? A kid after Bruce’s own heart.
Jason just wants to leave. He’s done what he thought was right.
But Bruce has another idea.
What a way to offer a kid a home, Bruce. I’m sure Alfred is thrilled.
In conclusion, Jason Todd was a badass well before he became Robin.
