Story Snippet:

"Pidge!" came a scream. And before she could even process that she was falling, that she was going to die, a dark hand shot over the edge and wrapped bruisingly about her wrist, but she had never been so grateful to be in pain.

Lance's panicked face met hers, although there was a steely glint of determination that so, so many overlooked. "I've got you," he panted, throwing his other arm forward and grabbing even more of her arm. "It's okay."

"L-Lance," she whimpered, bits of rock pelting her face, dropping a few inches as Lance was dragged forward. She could see from the underside the fracture racing up the cliff. He was going to fall too. He was going to die. Because of her. "You have to—"

"I'm not letting go," he snapped. More rock crumbled away. "Just hang on. I—"

Have a word: barriers

“Uh, Pidge, you got an ETA? Getting a little – whoa!” Gunfire soundedover the comm link and then Lance popped back on, panting slightly. “ETA por favor?”

“Almost there,” and he heard rapid-fire typing. “They’veimproved their security.” She went into a jargon then of codes and algorithmsthat Lance had no hope of following.

Lance nodded although she could not see and took up his postonce more in front of the glowing purple barrier that several captured rebelforces were trapped behind.

Another sentry force appeared at the end of the hall,stepping without mercy over the broken and sparking remains of the set Lancehad just taken out.

He hefted his blaster back into his hands with a sharp grin.“Time for round two.”
