Borderlands Video Game Saga

fEveryone has things that seem so minute at first but end up becoming pillars in ones life. I never quite catch on to these things when they first come out, but a year or so after the first one came out, I found it on sale and told my (at the time) boyfriend we should play this. It changed my life.

Borderlands (2009)

This is the game that starts it all. This is an open world, role playing, first person shooting and looting game. I would definitely play these games in order, this one has been remastered and released on xbox and switch. Flaws and all, this is still awe inspiring to me. One of my favorite things is the overall world building and lore of this universe, so as much as I want to spill all, its worth experiencing first hand.

Borderlands 2 (2012)

The players you played last game, are now NPC’s and some shit has happened between 1 and 2. You work with the whole team to hopefully put a stop to what was discovered in the first game, only to have your mind blown when you realize this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Borderlands: The Presequel (2014)

This is one of my favorites as the game makers did something really bold, they made a villain get a sequel but its their backstory so its a presequel? I thought it was so cool to “walk a mile in their shoes” and be characters you just otherwise heard stories about in the universe.

Tales from the Borderlands (2014)

During this time, TellTales (before they went bankrupt) did a borderlands game that actually fits in universe and definitely needs to be played. It is an episodic interactive comedy graphic adventure sci-fi choice based video game. This was really well done and nice to see another game maker fit into the universe so well!

Borderlands 3 (2019)

There was a long time to wait for this game between the previous ones. It was sooo worth it. You get a new villain, because how much can a dead villain reign? ( I LOVE YOU JACK! ). You also have more than one planet to go to! You get a lot of NPC’s and you get characters all grown up and seeing kind of a heartfelt “post credits” like feeling. So much DLC, but really with this game they went BIG and merchandise was everywhere.

Tiny Tinas Wonderlands (2022)

This game more recently came out. I will give some back story on this. Tiny Tina is a NPC support character, during one of the greatest DLC’s in a previous game, she does a version of D&D. It was fun, cute, good for farming, had butt stallion, like what more can a gal ask for? This is an extension of that DLC but its it own game. I have not yet played it, I hope someone gets it for me with all the DLC for my birthday coming up. BUT I AM SO EXCITED.

New Tales From The Borderlands (2022)

I will be making a separate post for this game, but I was shocked that 2K continued this style but did not use Telltale. Shocked, but after playing a bit, really excited that they did not. What they brought to the classic telltale fashion game and made it their own with-amazing. Story is well done, movement and graphics are incredible. Once I started playing, I had a hard time stopping. Also, how physical Vaultlanders and a game and a card game aren’t already a thing-such an awesome add to gameplay!

I don’t know if you caught that I can’t wait to play this game. But good things come to those who wait...(for birthdays LOL). Did you know there is even a movie coming up by late 2022? Talks of a sequel with handsome jack in it too? This is an exciting time for a long time fan, but also for new people to join in and see what we have been hollering about for like the past 10 years....Play them and let me know what you think....
