I really really really really didnât want to go back to doing this as regularly, but A.N.I.M. really needs money. The past few months for us have been pretty bad, and Iâve been making less than minimum wage with my cut of the profits for a while.
We make sure not to paywall the majority of our project so as not to bar them from people who canât afford them, but that means weâre reliant on the good will of those who can afford them to choose to pay.
If you like what we do, want us to keep doing it, an want to keep a disabled game designer who canât do other work able to pay their medical and food bills, please consider paying for one of our games on itchio, and/or subscribing to our patreon for more regularly updated versions of all our projects.
Patreon is empowering a new generation of creators. Support and engage with artists and creators as they live out their passions!
If you canât do that, rating them 5-stars on itchio, downloading them, and playing them/talking about them/sharing them is a huge help too. Like, it really canât be overstated how reliant we are on word-of-mouth.
I am going to have to reinstate the Income Goals to make sure we make an income of at least $2,000 every month across both itchio and patreon, gradually increasing that goal probably until we are making at least $3,000 every month.
Saw this post by @mythratica and thought I would post it because 1 million times YES
The Crimson Court - 75x90 XL battlemap for some creepy October vibes
As you approach the vacant gates of this once magnificent estate, the towering trees along the road transition into the hanging willows, branches swaying at odd intervals, as if the plants themselves bristle at your presence. Nearby, a tent and campfire have likewise fallen to ruin. The resting spot for an adventuring party, perhaps, or simple looters lured here by the rumors of the bacchanalian feasts once held on these grounds for the nobility.
Deeper, the faint scent of acrid waters and decaying flesh hit your nose, and a steady din of mosquitos is impossible to ignore. If the stories are true, what happened to the noblemen and ladies that disappeared past the iron gates so long ago, their night of revels never to end? And what fate found the explorers that dared venture deeper into the crimson court...

I'm sorry neighbours, it makes sense in context I promise
One of the best compliments I receive is when my DnD group forgets that Iâm playing both characters in an exchange.
Weâve been playing with the same DM for years and have legacy characters that pop in sometimes but also in our last campaign I took over a really pivotal NPC in order to romance my wife harder. So I end up having a lot of talking to myself scenes because characters need to resolve their differences or bond.
I initially worried about having conversations with myself but my party is always excited about it and routinely forget that Iâm both people. They view my characters as discrete entities and I think thatâs just about the highest praise imaginable.
Today when discussing a book scene my beloved said, âIâm excited to put in Nastya yelling at Orion, we didnât get that in game.â In game the party watched Nastya chewing out Orion and I described body language because the content of the argument was secret and because their accents are hard to switch between.
âYeah, I didnât have the fortitude for that one.â
My wife paused before going, âOh yeahhhh, both of them are you. I forgot.â
