yeah that’s true! aHAHAHA oh man yeah that’s gotta be quite jarring. I was a bit weirded out when I started reading the manga at first (when I saw your posts about the anime coming up, so thank you for getting me into it haha!) but it kinda grew on me! excited to have my heart shredded all over again lmfao sobs

bangs hands on table BRING THEM BACK!!! tbh the 80s setting of the manga is kinda what makes it so I wish they’d lean into that a little more in the animoo sob

i feel like the tone is still the same, and the facial designs are leaning towards the old style (especially in the older adults) so it’s not too bad overall

i especially felt the whiplash because ive been consuming veeeery little anime and going from kyoani’s free!! (fairly popular and modern style) to how everyone looks in banana fish (and megalobox by extension) really put at leat the character designs in perspective
