Did you know that we wake up with a limited amount of willpower to last us the entire day? That’s all we get, no matter how many decisions come up before bedtime. Some days, we make literally thousands of micro-decisions before we go back to sleep. (I’m already exhausted. *reaches for coffee mug*) . . There’s something called our “circadian rhythm,” or our “body clock.” Sleep resets it, so our willpower is at its highest right after sleep! (Are you starting to think back on all those resolutions that you’ve broken at the end of long days? 😬🙋) . . I can’t tell you how many days I’ve had where I’ve piled the veggies high…behaved very well... then dinner happens and suddenly I’ve made every trace of chocolate disappear like magic. My resolve is drained. . . This is why a good morning routine MATTERS! It doesn’t have to be something intense, just healthy and consistent… because your willpower is the strongest, so it will be easiest to do something disciplined and good for you. Keeping it the same every day reduces the amount of decision-making power your brain is using before the day really requires it. . . Try adding a simple stretch routine as soon as you wake up. . . Meditate. . . Chug a glass of lemon water to kick-start and hydrate your insides. . . Or all 3!! . . You do you!
