I've been holding out posting bc I wanted to add more miles but I ran my first 5K on Sunday and that deserves some recognition! I have asthma so my history with running has been a mess. You would not believe how important breathing is to running 😉 I DID IT! While I did take some water gulps on the side of the treadmill, I never stopped! My first mile clocked in right at 13 minutes and I was determined to beat it with my second. My second came in at 12 minutes and I was exciting! But I was also SO WINDED and not sure I could keep the pace. Finally I had a quarter of a mile to go and knew I needed to try. I kicked the treadmill into high gear, lungs screaming, and somehow someway clocked it in at exactly 12 minutes. I was so spent from the last mile, the last .1 took two minutes! Haha I took it as cool down time. My three mile time was 37 minutes and my #TIU5K time was 39 minutes. Apparently for real runners, that's garbage, BUT I DON'T CARE. That's amazing for me!
