My New Years resolutions:
Be as swift as the coursing river

I've been holding out posting bc I wanted to add more miles but I ran my first 5K on Sunday and that deserves some recognition! I have asthma so my history with running has been a mess. You would not believe how important breathing is to running 😉 I DID IT! While I did take some water gulps on the side of the treadmill, I never stopped! My first mile clocked in right at 13 minutes and I was determined to beat it with my second. My second came in at 12 minutes and I was exciting! But I was also SO WINDED and not sure I could keep the pace. Finally I had a quarter of a mile to go and knew I needed to try. I kicked the treadmill into high gear, lungs screaming, and somehow someway clocked it in at exactly 12 minutes. I was so spent from the last mile, the last .1 took two minutes! Haha I took it as cool down time. My three mile time was 37 minutes and my #TIU5K time was 39 minutes. Apparently for real runners, that's garbage, BUT I DON'T CARE. That's amazing for me! And I finished it! I achieved the goal I had set for myself, even if I did almost die in the process. #TIUTeam #TIUcheckin #TIUmotivation #TIULoveYourBody (at 🏃💨)

It's time for a little #selflove. Health is about caring for yourself, not beating yourself up for choosing rest over a workout. I just needed a wake-up call. #loveyourself The 5 things I ❤️ about my body 1⃣ my eyes! Me and my sister @raylynnatiu are the only green eyed people in our family! 2⃣ my cheekbones- I always feel so fancy when they're contoured for a night out 💃 3⃣ my booty! I'm working on growing it, but it's not too shabby 4⃣ my arms show improvement pretty fast once I start weight training- I'm also pretty good at push ups! 5⃣ my feet- I know most people hate theirs, but I actually like mine! With a cute pedi, warm weather, and sandals, I'm happy as a clam☀️ How do I want to feel by Valentines' Day? PROUD. Proud of myself, proud of my effort, my endurance, my will to succeed. This is much more than fitness for me- it's setting a goal and trying my best to reach it- for the first time in a loongg time. Not giving up or feeling sorry for myself is the greatest test this #TIULoveYourBody challenge will give me. #TIUmotivation #TIUTeam #TIUcheckin (at ❤️💗💜❤️💗💜)

Just finished the #LoveYourAbs routine with Katrina! Needless to say my little tummy muscles struggled to keep up. Does anyone else's diaphragm make weird noises when doing the Waistline Cinch?? I've set my goals for the #TIULoveYourBody Challenge and I'm almost terrified to post them. I struggle with a fear of failure so I rarely make my goals public- just in case I fail. It's one of my intentions of 2015 to STOP letting fear control me and instead to risk my very BEST effort on anything I want to achieve. I have stated my goals and now I have to put my plans into action! I must lose two pounds a week in order to meet my goals so I have to be diligent every single day to maintain focus. Sorry #TIUTeam I just couldn't bring myself to take a cute selfie after Cupid's Cardio! Cupid must be an secret Olympian because this didn't exactly remind me of the winged baby I knew of. 😉 Even though it was definitely a sweat sesh, I LOVED how strong and fit I felt after! @ToneItUp knows what they're doing. 👌The treadmill stopped before I did, so I added both together to get 5 miles towards my #100ByVDay! 3 KEYS to SUCCESS:
1.) Set Goals. Write them down and be specific! I like to write my goals for the next 1-2 years down every week— even if they change or change order. Less then 3% of people write their goals down…and you can bet those 3% are the most successful. Write them down in the PRESENT tense with deadlines — Ex: “I weigh ____ in Feb 2015.”
2.) Take action. Now that you have your goals written down and are CLEAR about what you want, its time to take action. What steps do you have to take on a daily basis to help you move closer to achieving them? What old habits can you get rid of? What new habits should you form? Know that success with anything doesnt happen over night— BUT the little things you do EVERYDAY are what is going to add up to your BIG results!!
3.) Never give up!! The easiest way to fail is to give up— don’t let yourself throw in the towel. On the road to achieving ANYTHING, there are bumps and obstacles, these are only there to make you BETTER so rather then feel like a failure when things get tough or you fall off track— REMIND yourself WHY you started!! Pick yourself right back up and LEARN from your mini failures along the way. And always remember this one thing….you can NEVER truly fail if you never give up!! Keep your vision alive of what you want, and believe me, it’ll happen if you stick with it!

Did my Morning Booty Call Cupid's Cardio as best as i could with a pinched nerve in my lower back. 😩 I'm looking forward to this challenge so much!! Me and @mkatiu are doing this together as sisters although we live in different cities. 👯💪 It's going to be a challenge working a full time job while commenting an hour and a half to and from my job 🚗🚗 AND having a pinched nerve in my back... Day 1 of #TIULoveYourBody challenge was a success! I started the day (after waking up late- working on this habit!) with a walk/jog of two miles towards #100byVDay. My nutrition was a little all over the place, but I stayed within my #fitbit 1000 calorie deficit- I really want to see those two pounds off my next weigh-in! I would join to hear if any of the other #TIUTeam ladies use fitbit- I love mine! After the heartbreaking (and I do mean heartbreaking- I teared up for all of us seniors) football game, I used the #LoveYourBodyYoga to calm down. It was harder than it looked! The hip flexor stretch was KILLER. I would really love to get into yoga this year- it will certainly help with the flexibility issues that arise when I run. I'm nervous about going by myself though! What should I expect from a first yoga class? @toneitup -MK (at first things first, im the realest😎)
