Tokyo debunker theory for Zenji
Just a random thought but if the ghouls sell their soul for abilities and other darker/personal reasons.
Why is Zenji a ghost? He sold his soul wouldn’t he just stop existing after his death. (I mean the power of love for his brothers well being could of done it too)
My only thought so far after doing some research (reading up on demons for my oc stigma) is that it has something to do with his demon.
There are a few demons in the ars goetia that have to do with transporting bodies or afterlife stuff.
This idea comes from all the other ghouls so far to my knowledge have come from this legion of demons and is backed up from a lovely people on here who did the research and information table I know I’ve seen a few, but user Creamtese is the one with the most info to back it up. I’ve also I’ve seen their list on Reddit and here.
So I guess would this be a possibility I think demon wise I thought was his was Bifrone when I read it

Bifrone
Proficiency- Arts, Sciences, Astrology, Geometry, Death, the Dead, Plague, Necromancy.

Upon the command of his summoner, he will also move a buried body to another location or light candles upon the graves of the deceased that he has control over.
He also moves bodies into different graves, lights candles over graves, and It is said he also has the ability to control the souls of the dead.

Just thoughts I have randomly I’ve also think I found what Kaito’s, and Rui’s demons might be. And ….maybe Haku’s and Towa’s(there a few for Towa actually)
