I love TokuKaito in the gut wrenching guilt ridden after the end of season 1 way, Kaito unwittingly using her as a connection to his previous life, and them seeing their own shortcomings as strengths in each other, unrequited, destined to lose each other along the way kinda way. In the way that Kaito is constantly afraid of her forgetting him after she leaves the academy, and her unsure whether she feels guilt or love for what he does. I love them in the way they are both haunted by a past they wish to change and return to as it moves farther away from them.

Also in the wholesome baking and gossiping together and sharing a playlist with wired earphones kinda way.

People would be a lot more willing to admit Kaito's growth and immense nuance as a character if he was more conventionally attractive, but since he isn't, his writing gets brushed under the mat by the fandom and ghouls with much more stagnant character get excused for much worse or much more morally grey actions.
