Viva swaddled herself into her blanket, feeling her eyes getting heavy. That was, until she felt the breathing of a certain pink hair troll hovering over her.

“Vivaa you can’t be ready for bed already! We could make bracelets OOH OR WE COULD SCRAPBOOK! OR OR..”

“Hermana, that all sounds wonderful, but couldn’t we do it in the morning?” Viva muttered, on a sugar low from troll village’s lack of milkshakes.

Poppy flopped onto her back dramatically "But that's sooooo loooong, besides i don't think i can fall asleep yet. i'm not even tired".

"Just close your eyes and think of something relaxing" Viva muttered, the sleepiness almost overtaking her.

"Things like flowers?" , Poppy asked, poking her side

"Dohont" Viva whined, rolling into her blanket

"Don't what?"

"Don't think about flowers, or rainbows or cupcakes?" Poppy sped up her pokes with each tease.

Viva swiftly rolled over in hopes of protecting her sides. Poppy switched her attention to Viva's back which had now been exposed to her. She poked and prodded around, earning her a surprised shriek

"HOHOW ISHIS THAHAT SO BAHAD" She giggled, hiding her face in her hands.

"Awww even your back is ticklish!"

Poppy cooed, vibrating her fingers into her shoulder blades.

This, Poppy decided, was much more fun than bracelet making.

In the bunker, laid box upon box of branch’s things, neatly sealed and pushed to the side. Poppy had been helping him move out all day. He found him self a little surprised at his excitement to move into a pod. He’d been ready to move in with poppy for a while, he’d just never really known anything except for his bunker. The only thing that hadn’t been made ready for transport was the contents of his bedroom. A small, faded, brozone poster adorned his wall. Although nothing had been boxed up, the room was still pretty barren only consisting of a full size bed, a dresser, and a nightstand where Gary would rest. He and Poppy were taking a break from all the moving, cuddling on his bed under a gray, weighted blanket. He shifted his back against the mattress,

“You, ok?” Poppy asked, worrying he was uncomfortable.

“I’m alright, might have overdone it a little with the lifting though”, he chuckled in response. Poppy rolled her eyes playfully

“Might have been the gallons of spit” she remarked, “What are we even gonna do with those?” she questioned, now looking up at him. He thought for a moment,

“Well I figure, we’ll turn this place into an emergency shelter, you can never have too many rations”, he replied.

“Ah yes, I know we’re starving down here, but thank troll we have someone else’s year old saliva”, Poppy quipped, earning her a flat look from the gray troll above her.

“Ohhh yes you’re right, something to eat. Why didn’t I think of that?” He said sarcastically, feigning a facepalm. “Oh wait, good news, there’s something right HERE” he pounced, nibbling gently into her neck, earning him an orchestra of giggles and squirms. Poppy made a half-hearted attempt at an escape only to find the blanket had weighed her down. “Uh-uh-uh, no main course is complete without RIBS” he exclaimed wiggling his fingers into each of her ribs making her squeal with delight, curling herself into a ball. He knew she tired easily, so he eased up on the speed, just enough to leave her giddy. He couldn’t help but feel himself melt at the sight of her scrunched up nose and reddened ears. He rubbed the ghost tickles away, but kept a soft arm around her, watching as she drifted to sleep. Maybe living in a pod wouldn’t be so bad after all….

Poppy had just come home from an opening ceremony she’d had to orchestrate, pretty standard queen stuff. She and Branch had been living in the same pod for over a month now and it wasn’t uncommon to see him napping on the couch. But, as she tiptoed around him, she realized he was wide awake, the blanket pulled over him, his hair grayer than usual. Disheartened, she sat down next to him. Springtime was often hard for Branch, as it marked the anniversary of his grandmother’s passing. And while it was rare to see him cry, the trolls closest to him knew the difference between this seasonal depression and his regular grumpy nature. Poppy started to stroke his face gently, something she knew helped soothe him. She said not a word, didn’t even ask what was wrong. She didn’t have to. Branch dropped his shoulders subconsciously as he let her gentle touch relax him. Her hands wondered up and down his soft hair. Up and down, ever so slowly. Branch almost fell asleep until her hand accidentally grazed his ear, making him flinch a little. Poppy was confused by this, as she had been as gentle as she could be. Then, the realization hit her, and a playful smile drew to her lips, eliciting the slightest blush of pink to Branch’s cheeks. Poppy readjusted herself on the sofa and began to slowly circle his ears, earning her a few giggles. “Pohohopy” he whined, her smile brightening with his. In any other scenario, she would have went full on tickle monster on him. But, saving that for another time, she leaned down and planted a kiss on his forehead as they cuddled the rest of the night away.
