The plot for season 3 of lok very easily could’ve been “Red Lotus Society was actually secretly backed by the White Lotus so that Korra’s parents would finally agree to raising her in the compound and basically giving the White Lotus complete control over a new avatar they can mold to be perfectly obedient to their goals and part of the Red Lotus’ motivation in season 3 is also getting back at the people who they discovered were both their mysterious benefactors who set them up for failure” with practically no change to the plot

however that would probably necessitate dealing with the White Lotus being at least a B plot in season 4 (or even replacing the Kuvira storyline), which is already a pretty packed season, and I don’t know if that would make season 4 better or worse. To not mess with Korra’s recovery storyline too much (best part of season 4 imo) Korra would probably have to find out about this sometime after her recovery. Maybe at the very end of the season (before the wedding epilogue) but this is the kind of thing that needs to be dealt with with subtly and patience and Korra and Asami would definitely have time for their spirit world vacation before planning their next steps. Then season 5/the comics could’ve been dealing with the White Lotus (I haven’t read the comics but from what I heard this has the potential to be better than the storyline they actually went with). Maybe it could be revealed that the White Lotus society murdered Sokka once he started voicing concerns over the amount of control they have over Korra (the others were all too busy with their own things to realize just how tight the iron grip the White Lotus had on Korra was)

It pretty much is canon to me that the White Lotus jumped on the opportunity to have complete control over the Avatar and used the Red Lotus’ attempted kidnapping as a convenient excuse. This would just be taking things one step further (The White Lotus of Yangchen’s era definitely would’ve been more than willing to orchestrate a harmless, fake kidnapping if that meant furthering their interests “for the greater good”) and im lowkey vibing with the ‘Sokka was murdered by White Lotus’ headcanon that I literally just thought of for this post

i feel SO VINDICATED i KNEW it wasn't gerudo text that we saw in the first trailer!!!!! we've got a new language folks!! and you can clearly see the shapes are better fitting for the green swirls (and maybe it's just me reading into it but i can see some in the middle of the ouroboros-logo)

i think we finally know what the significance of the zonai spiral is,,,,, it's a magatama also there's 7 of them around this owl-like figure,,, 7,,, like the seven sag-

(working on getting clearer pics) so there's this huge green emblem on the ground next to hyrule castle- which looks sick as fuck by the way- and you can see another emblem in a different area later in the trailer.... it looks like they might be very similar shapes, but definitely not exactly the same. im wondering if they might be indications of chunks of land that can float into the sky.... kinda like how we see that stasis-like ability earlier on. i'm still convinced it's a 'rewind time' stasis ability but yknow.

can i just say that the ouroboros is a Genius Idea? it's SO fitting for the zelda series, particularly botw ganon- who is constantly devouring whatever it comes across with malice and greed, not realizing he's turned himself into a horrifying abomination, essentially destroying itself as it tears into WAIT I JUST REALIZED WHAT IF IT'S NOT 'TEARS' AS IN CRYING TEARS, BUT 'TEARS' AS IN RIPS. WHAT IF IT'S BOTH.... OHHHHH THOSE CLEVER MOTHERFUCKERSSSS......... anyways i think it really represents the curse that is the reincarnation of ganon, link, and zelda. every step they make ends up haunting them later. every move made against ganon makes him cunning, stronger, angrier, and every reincarnation makes zelda's bloodline weaker. but they can't stop, they must keep cycling through time, tearing themselves apart.

rrrhghgh thinking about how they said the title of the game 'gave away' a lot which is why they waited to reveal it,,, those weird glowy vials on link's belt...... what if,,, ahaha what if you haveta collect 'tears of light' except this time it's like. drops of magic that held the kingdom together/protected it. what if the tears give power to the master sword and/or restore it AND the master sword is the tool you use to collect the tears in the first place. it'd be a logical mechanic to replace the spirit orbs hhhh many thoughts
