He hears a very large, very loud something coming very fast at him through the fog. He kind of ducks, yelling in rage and confusion - as three idiots burst out of the fog and trees onto the road. "Stop! Stop!“ Moth shouts, holding up a hand. "I won’t hurt you.”

A librarian-scholar as well as bodyguard, Moth left the capitol of Santhoven seeking Brelyeis after the new chancellor disappeared one night, and upon finding him with two bedraggled adventurers, chose to stay and help them on their quest.

RACE, CLASS, & LEVEL: tiefling bard, lv. 5 BACKGROUND: academic, bard, & adventurer ALIGNMENT: chaotic good

 The usual feeling of judgmental eyes made Rafail cross her knees and adjust her shawl a little tighter around her bodice. For some reason, it felt more like she was getting judged for that than appreciated, rather than the horns and extremely long tail (that was agitatedly whipping around under the table). She pulled her tankard up to her lips and drank deeply, exhaling with a sigh and pointedly not looking at the halfling at her table. She pointedly didn't look at the sad elf who shuffled into the tavern, either, instead narrowing her eyes imperiously at the bard, playing a sad excuse for a fiddle. "Bad work," she said under her breath, in a sharp accent.

A disgraced scholar and skilled bard, Rafail signed up for Brelyeis's original quest seeking funds to pursue revenge on her old college.

RACE, CLASS, & LEVEL: water fey with appearance of sun elf, lv. ??? BACKGROUND: ??? ALIGNMENT: chaotic neutral???

"Interesting... I'll be right back." Mort got up [and] walked over to the sun elf. "how we doing over here, boyo?" 

The elf looked up from his book, looked around himself for the owner of the voice, and then down at Mort, smiling when he saw him. "Oh, are you talking to me?"

A seemingly helpless traveler trapped in the village of Caer Bogh, Adaire quickly proved himself more than he appeared, and the more the others learn about him, the more dangerous and mercurial they realize he actually is - and the rarer his friendship.

RACE, CLASS, & LEVEL: moon elf wizard, lv. ??? BACKGROUND: chancellor of Santhoven; former councilman of Santhoven ALIGNMENT: ???

“I must confess I did not realize there would be three of you… Now, given the nature of your –” He waved his hand dismissively as he took the last seat at the table, “particular occupations I assume you will want reassurances on money. Four thousand gold, you can fight amongst yourselves to split it, I care not how. Whatever you pick up on your way is yours but the glass is to be brought immediately to me. Understood?”

A councilman trying to fight a war on two fronts - against his own peers, and against himself - Brelyeis contracted three out-of-luck adventurers just to locate a stolen relic, but when matters became so much more than a simple fetch quest, he eventually joined them - only to discover their incredible combination of luck for himself.

Kaehlan (mine!)

RACE, CLASS, & LEVEL: wood elf fighter, lv. 9 BACKGROUND: former soldier & current adventurer  ALIGNMENT: chaotic neutral

Kaehlan grimaced. So - the drink wasn’t free. In fact - sodding thieves, he only had ten coppers left, he wasn’t going to pay two for this swill. He could piss in a cup and drink that if he was thirsty enough. Probably get the same result too. 

A former soldier, Kaehlan was reluctant to sign up for even a simple fetch quest, but the more the adventurers learned about the larger story behind their search, the more invested he became.

looking around the bar, he shook his head. mm mm mm he thought. gonna need more ale to drown this place out.

a sailor once forced to choose between saving his ship or punishing a guilty crew, Mort signed up for a simple fetch quest to begin saving up the money for a new life - even if his two fellow adventurers did seem a bit, well, odd…

 when adam kissed him,

                  it was every mile per hour Ronan had ever gone over the speed limit. it was every window-down, goose-bumps-on-skin, teeth-chattering-cold night drive. it was Adam’s ribs under Ronan’s hands and Adam’s mouth on his mouth, again                                                                                                                                                                       and again                                                                                                                                                                       and again. it was stubble on lips and Ronan having to stop, to get his breath, to restart his heart.
